Church Announcements & Activities for the week of
III Campaign, “Investing in the Next Generation”, has begun and will
run through Sunday, February 4, 2018. Phase III will include Classrooms,
Activity Rooms, and Meeting Space to support all Brookland Baptist
Church Ministries and Programs. The primary goal is to ensure that
Brookland provides a suitable and relevant space from which Youth,
Teens, and Young Adults can come together in fellowship and work towards
expanding the reach of God’s Kingdom through effective ministry and
outreach. You can contribute to the Campaign in the following ways: Text
2 Give, Give a One Time Donation, or Online Giving. The following are
Pledge Packages: HOPEFUL - $1000 ($42/month),
BELIEVER - $2000 ($83/month), FAITHFUL - $3000 ($125/month). Room
Sponsorships are as follows VISIONARY SPONSOR- $5000 Donation, TRINITY
SPONSOR $10,000 Donation. Please continue to make your pledge by using one of the following: 1) Online Giving…www.brooklandbaptist.org, click on Phase III, 2) Use the Capital Campaign envelope in the pews OR 3) Use the tithe envelope and designate the amount you are giving on the “Other” line. The BOYS II MEN Training Program assists high school young men in grades 9 – 12 with emotional, spiritual, educational, and social development. We seek to reach young men associated with Brookland Baptist Church and its surrounding community. There is no cost to participate. Meetings are scheduled on one Saturday during the month. All young men are required to participate in at least 80% of all activities and the Manhood Training is mandatory in order to receive a certificate of completion for the year.
Calling all children between the ages of 5 and 12… The Brookland Baptist Youth Choir needs you! We are gearing up for an exciting and fun filled 2016- 2017 season. This year the season begins in September and continues through April. The choir rehearses the 2nd and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 9:00 a.m – 11:00 a.m., and sings each 3rd Sunday at the 11:00 a.m. worship. Please join the Brookland Baptist Church Brotherhood and the 2016 Men’s Day Committee for a Breakfast and Education Forum on Saturday, September 10th, at 8 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Dr. Ronald Epps, Former Richland One Superintendent, will make a presentation on “Education and the African American Child: Understanding The Times”, and a panel of educational professionals will engage the audience in dialogue. The fee for the breakfast is $5 and this event is open to everyone, especially ALL parents who are concerned about the future of our education system.
Bible Study will resume September 14th. Please join us as we explore the world of various faith communities. We will discuss what makes Christianity unique from other religions and cults. We will cover Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and much more. The class will be full of films, guest lectures, group assignments and field trips.
The Couples for Christ Ministry has acquired additional rooms for Retreat 2017 to be held in Hilton Head, SC. The keynote speaker will be Rev. T.C. Stallings of the movie, "War Room."
We are beginning another school year and we want you to join us. Boy Scouts meet at the Brookland Lakeview Empowerment Center on Wednesdays at 6:15 PM. Girl Scouts meet in the Fellowship Hall of the Administration Bldg on Wednesdays at 6 PM. Cub Scouts meet on Wednesdays at 6 PM at Brookland Lakeview Empowerment Center.
