Women's Day Welcome
Women, Girls, Ladies of Brookland; our life experiences have taught us that; Prayer Empowers Awakens Revives Lifts Strengthens! You believe that and the 2017 Women’s Day committee believes that too, which is why it was chosen as this year’s theme!
I Believe - PEARLS, combines our Church’s mantra with a declaration about the power and importance of prayer in our lives! Based on Matthew 13:45-46 (NIV) “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls.46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it; The Women’s Day Committee has utilized the letters in PEARLS as an acronym to describe the precious gem and incredible value in our sacred conversations with the Lord.
We are living in a time where various challenges affect our lives, communities and nation, personally, professionally, spiritually, financially and politically! During this season we must come together to Pray for each other even more diligently. There is a need for understanding from our adult and senior women towards our youth and young adult women. The Committee wants Women’s Day to reflect this type of mentorship and empowerment that’s in line with the vision of Brookland.
The Pearl goes through a long arduous process before the hard exterior of the protective shell opens to reveal the beautiful smooth shiny gem. The theme of Women’s Day 2017 serves as encouragement and a reminder that regardless of what you’re going through, you must maintain an active prayer life, identify a support system and put God first and you will survive and overcome any adversity! You will come through victorious, glowing and as valuable as the PEARL!
